Charity Focus on Play2Give
Play2Give was founded by Didcot’s Andrew Baker in late 2007. As a fundraising organisation, P2G has proved to be hugely successful, and continually growing each year, successfully raising money for local charities principally for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, through organising events, such as annual football tournaments and fundraising parties.
Andrew began fundraising in 2003 as a 14 year old, as his way to say ‘thank you’ to the wonderful medics who had been treating him since birth, particularly for the major brain surgery he endured at the Radcliffe Infirmary in 2001.
Play2Give has donated over £45,730 for numerous Oxfordshire causes since 2007, with over £36.2K of this donated to the Oxford Children’s Hospital. As of late 2014, Play2Give are fundraising to achieve a £40,000 target for the Children’s Hospital to name its very own room on the Melanie’s teenage Ward, which once achieved a plaque will be in situ of this sponsored room.
