We at Make a Donation Limited have always believed that profit should not be made from monies donated by the public to their chosen causes. Since we started in 2011, we have followed this mantra to the extent that we have absorbed the charges made by payment processors.
Due to changes in PCI compliance, the way aggregators of funds are being asked to change and the up and coming General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are affecting our business we have had to make some changes to our business model. As a result from the 1st February, 2018, we are going to have to make a small deduction of 2.5% to cover the processing charges we currently pay on your behalf. This will enable us to cover all of the relevant and necessary costs of processing payments made through our platform. In doing so we can continue to operate the business thereby offering donors and organisations alike the opportunity to give and receive at a consistent minimal cost. Details of the changes will appear in the relevant terms shortly.
We would like to make it clear that no payment will be made to a director or shareholder as a result of these changes. We continue to believe that profit should not be made from donations that have been given by donors to help and support chosen causes. In this particular instance, we believe that providing notice of the changes is appropriate.
